Please find where you can register to vote here.

If you need to register or update your registration at your polling place on Election Day, you will need to bring one of the following proof of residency documents:

  • A photo ID with current name and address
  • A Photo ID plus a document showing  your current name and address
  • A registered voter who can confirm your address
  • A college student ID with housing list
  • A valid registration in the precinct
  • A notice of late registration

In Minnesota, you can vote early by requesting an absentee ballot starting 46 days before Election Day. You can request your absentee ballot online for federal, state, and county elections. For more information on absentee voting options, click here.

To vote by mail, you need to apply for an absentee ballot. You do not need to be registered to apply. For more details on how to apply, click here.

To find your polling place, enter your address into the Polling Place Finder. This tool will provide you with your voting location, precinct districts, and other details. Access the Polling Place Finder here.

If you cannot make it to your voting location on Election Day, you can choose to vote early or vote by mail as described above.

If your voter registration is current and active- meaning you registered at least 21 days before Election day and have not moved or changed your name – you do not need to bring identification.
If you need to register, update your registration, or if you have not voted in the past four years or more, you will need to show proof of residence when you vote.

Election Day is November 5, 2024. Polling Hours are from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Election Day.

When renewing an ID in Minnesota, the automatic voter registration process involves several steps:

  1. Reviewing citizenship documents,
  2. Verification by state and county officials
  3. Confirmation through postal verification cards.
